Kingsley Abrams is the former National Secretary of the Labour Party Black Sections, and the former Policy officer of the Standing Conference on Racial Equality in Europe. He has worked in the voluntary/community sector over the last 30 years. He was educated in Guyana and the UK.
He gained a Social Science degree from Southbank University. Kingsley was an elected Councillor between 1986-2013, and is a former Deputy Leader, Finance Chair and Chief Whip of Merton Council. At Lambeth Council he held the position of Deputy Cabinet Member with responsibility for Business and Enterprise.
Kingsley was also Chair of the Association of London Government (ALG)’s Grants Committee, and a Director of London Tourist Board. Kingsley is United Left National Equalities officer
